Valentine's Thoughts
Saturday, 13 February 2016 | 20:05 | 0 comments

It's been more than a year neglecting this space. Here I am which also means I have nowhere else to rant except here. All these negativities inside me is unbearable.

I have no idea why am I being brought into this world. With such life I am facing, I'd rather not exist. I have no dad, I have an irresponsible mum and now added on with a husband who have no freaking principles.

I am already in debt because of my mum, frankly speaking, I really hate her for putting me in such situation full of burdens. I really do. And her sisters only know how to say and nag. At some point of time, I really feel like saying SO WHAT?! Does my mum do what she's supposed to do?

Speaking of my husband. I never had a day of life with him. To people out there, anniversaries, birthdays and valentine's day is just another day. For me it's different! Out of this 3 days, the other 362 days are days full of burdens. These 3 days are days which I can give myself a reason to not think of anything and do whatever I want. Yet he don't even prioritise me. He don't even think of it. Joining back to lion dance now just make it worse!

I'm at wits end now. I don't know what to do. I don't dare to think. I'm escaping reality all the while. I have no solution.

Wanted to blog the whole incident out but it's simply too long of a story and the longer I typed, the more angry and sad I feel, hence deleted everything.

I just need to leave this company for good.
Nothing else I wish for at this very point of time.
Taobao Hacks / How to buy from Taobao
Thursday, 22 January 2015 | 19:20 | 0 comments

Have been browsing through Taobao to see if there's anything I can buy from there for my wedding prep stuffs. As many would know, Taobao is known for cheap and affordable shopping online platform. If anybody is reading this, I'm sharing it here. If nobody reads, this will also serve as a note to myself ☺
Images are screenshot from here. If you're buying from Singapore, just enter you address in Singapore or pay using enets (S$1 processing fee) or credit card (3% processing fee)☺

For first time user, it's best recommended to use a PC for the registration / verifications as some may not support mobile version. After you have done these, you may just download the TAOBAO app from you app/play store to go mobile shopping ☺

Step 1: Seach for your item
Tip: Search in English to get the Chinese term for the item, copy and paste the Chinese term again in the search bar to get a full listing for that item. Useful for people who don't know what term to use for your product in Chinese.

Step 2: Add to Cart

Step 3: Place your order
Click on cart, select items to order and click on order

Step 4: Setup Parcel Fowarding

Step 5: Make Payment

Step 6: Once your item reaches their warehouse, you may consolidate and ship over to Singapore.

Step 7: May payment for shipping

Happy Shopping!

Recommended list of Justice Of Peace / Solemnizer
Friday, 16 January 2015 | 00:32 | 0 comments

As mentioned in previous posts, I'm getting hitched on 27th June 2015. Both customary and solemnisation will be held on the same day.
Solemnisation can't be held without a Solemnizer and being 5 months+ ahead after reading horror stories of people unable to get any Solemnizers even half a year ahead, I started sourcing slowly few months back.
I simply just googled recommended solemnizers and usually the popular ones pop up. It was such a huge headache searching for one. I don't have much criteria on my JP, just have to see already 顺眼 can already.

I read horror stories about some JPs asking for extra angpao etc and I wouldn't want it to happen on my big day and spoil my mood. I emailed a number of populars JPs and they were all unable to officiate my marriage because either they were fully booked (more bridezilla than me?!) or they will be overseas (My big day is during June). Roarrrrrr!

Here are some JPs I emailed and the response:

1) Mr Phua Tan Tee
Emailed him on 1st October'14 since he's really popular and as expected, he wasn't able to solemnise our marriage. He replied my email in less than 2 hours so I guess he's considered prompt.

2) Mr Peter Lee
Emailed him on 1st October'14 since he's really popular also and he replied my email in less than 2 hours also. He mentioned that his license is due to renewal by end of year so he couldn't give me a confirm answer and I emailed him again on 9th January 2015 and unfortunately his license is not renewed and is no longer doing solemnisation anymore. However on his last reply he got my name, Shirley, wrong as Serene. That's small matter so yah, BTBs looking for JPs you will know you don't have to email him if you wish to find him ☺

3) Professor Yu Shi Ming
Emailed him on 25th November 2014 and he replied on the same day less than an hour. However he mentioned it's too early to say and ask me to check with him again 3 months before my big day.

4) Mr Chiang Heng Liang
Emailed him on 1st October'14 since he's really popular too and he replied my email 10 hours later. However, he also mentioned it's still early for him and he might be involve in SG50 celebrations and organizations hence cannot commit to my date. Suggested me to check back with him some time in Feb / March when he have a better feel of the events and plans.

5) Professor Leo Tan Wee Hin
Emailed him on 16th January 2015 and received his reply in an hour time. But he mention he expects to be away most of June hence unable to commit.

6) Mr Koh Kok Weng
Chanced upon Nadnut's Blog and SMS him but he couldn't make it.

7) Mr Teo Chong Tee
SMSed him and received a reply in about an hour time but he will be overseas on my date hence can't officiate for me either.

8) Mr Phang Tai Heng
Called him and told him about my date and time. But he mentioned date is ok time not ok. Really sad lah, I really like his grandfather look. HAHAHA!

9) Mr. Wee Pang Kiat
After Mr Phang mention he can't solemnize at my timing he positively recommended Mr Wee to me. Can't seems to find much reviews except chancing on here. Added blog owner on facebook and ask for reviews and it was a positive one so I went ahead and call. And FINALLY! He can solemnize our marriage ☺ He even advised me on his license number and what to do after I do my e-filing on 27th March 2015 which is the earliest date I can e-file☺ He also advised that he will meet me and my HTB after ROM has done all documents verification.
I do sincerely hope there won't be any glitches during this period till my big day though as it's still 5 months away. *Cross fingers*

So yeah, that's my process of searching for a JP. Goodluck to yours ☺

Guestlist = Headache
Thursday, 15 January 2015 | 00:16 | 0 comments

Doing up my guestlist for our big day is really a big headache.
Mine is an easy task because I don't invite many people and have a small family. Whereas HTB's a real headache. I'm not familiar with his family tree and he is typically Carlsberg live branding "好友满天下"(Friends all around the world).
Okay lah, exaggerate a little but compared to my friends, his is really alot. And I still don't know all of his friends despite being together for more than 4 years.

Headache and neckache now.

Recent Thoughts: Surprise On My Big Day
Thursday, 8 January 2015 | 01:09 | 0 comments

Time to do a short update on my recent thoughts.
HTB mentioned many times he actually like my singing. I can't say I sing really well but I really do love singing. This hobby of mine was brought out by my mum who also loved singing before she got a stroke. So occasionally, Teo Heng and $10 KTV has been a hangout place for me and also some of my friends who shares the same hobby as me.

Yesterday night when I was thinking about our wedding day itinerary, I actually thought of singing to HTB during our wedding banquet during one of my march in.

I have never attended a wedding whereby the bride sings to the groom during march in hence I totally cannot visualize how it gonna take place during the wedding. I started off by asking some fellows BTBs in a secret facebook group for advices when should it take place and some of them gave advices. One of them recommended during the 2nd march in as I will be solemnising after my 1st march in and solemniser won't be waiting for me. So set, 2nd march in that's it!

Next the question is, what song should I sing?

I browsed through YouTube and couldn't find an appropriate English song. After a while I thought to myself, why must it be in English? Even though most of our guests are bilingual, but MOST of them understands chinese and the old folks don't understand English so why not find a chinese song? And I chanced upon this video:

Really nice and sweet lah! Of course the bride has a pretty face and voice to start with but I don't.
So I decided to start honing my voice (When I know my face can't be hone unless I strike a lottery maybe and go get plastic surgery? LOL)

I immediately whatsapp HTB to bring me to Katong Teo Heng after work today telling him I suddenly want to sing so badly and ask him to fetch me there and fetch me back after he end work.

MOST IMPROMPTU DECISION EVER!!

Booked a room at 6pm later. Gonna sing my lungs out.
Byebye!

Summarizing 2014
Monday, 29 December 2014 | 20:32 | 0 comments

Hello! 2014 is coming to an end soon and it's time to summarize my 2014 and welcome 2015 with new resolutions. Every year seems to be dragging so long but when it's end of the year, hell it did pass so fast. 2014 didn't treat me really well except for a few.

  • Early this year, mummy got a stroke but thankfully it was a mild one. Other than affecting her speech, she still can walk and do things as per normal.
  • I became the sole breadwinner for this whole year and I can say I still do a good job but I can do even better.

After several persuasions, htb's (yes it's Husband To Be) father finally nod his head and agree to our marriage. Booked venue, bridal package and photographer's package. Tons of things yet to be done still.
